"I looked into a few fostering agencies and was impressed as the initial contact was dynamic and full of friendly information from the person I spoke to . It turned out they were a key member of the social work staff and so able to provide me with a good overview. Other agencies were slow to respond and not really providing the information I needed. It is a daunting process to begin with and so this experience was key to settling my nerves and helping me to understand what would happen in order to apply. I am now a single foster care with CFF and oh my goodness I enjoy every moment - even the tricky tiring days are made good by non stop support at the end of the phone. I also like their approach to training which was comprehensive and from a therapeutic approach - so my skills and understanding is really advanced compared to a year ago. Last but not least is the fact that although they are an agency they are not for profit - meaning they are a charity and do not profit from the situation children are in needing to be fostered... That was really important to me, not to be part of a money making organisation - I also feel they have an advantage of the local authority as they provide a quicker, more involved service to us as a foster family. If you are thinking about doing this - you cannot go wrong with Changing Future... fantastic."
