Young People at Heart was founded by Gary and Davina Cox as a not-for-profit organisation for one simple reason; they wanted to create an independent fostering environment where outcomes for young people were paramount for the organisation and everyone associated with it. Being a not-for-profit organisation means there are no shares, so any surpluses will be retained within the organisation for the benefit of the young people in care, not paid out to shareholders or investors as dividends or interest. Our aim and objective is to achieve the best possible outcome for every young person placed in our care by providing a healthy and safe family environment in which the young person can develop to their full potential.

At Wholistic, we really value our foster carers, it’s natural to us because our founder was a child-in-care. Mike spent time in foster care as a school age child and lived across different areas of Birmingham and the Black Country including Dudley and Wolverhampton. Mike promised himself if he was ever in a position to help children who were in care he would. In 2013 he enlisted of his Social Worker wife and a Business friend to setup what is now Wholistic Fostering.

Could you offer a supportive, loving home to a child in Waltham Forest?
We are looking for new Foster Carers based in and around Waltham Forest to provide a family home for children who can’t live with their own families. This care can sometimes be short term emergency care or a more permanent arrangement.

We care for children from all and ethnic backgrounds and welcome carers from all backgrounds, of all ages, ethnicity, sexuality and single parents too!

You will need patience, humour and energy to look after a child. Being a Foster Carer is like being a parent, but is also a paid professional role which involves training and support and working with other professionals such as social workers and teachers.
