"Extremely disappointing and poorly managed experience. This centre did not feel child-focused at all. Instead of supporting a natural and positive interaction between a parent and their children, the entire session felt overly restrictive, uncomfortable, and unnecessarily controlled. The environment created was tense and artificial, which is the opposite of what supervised contact should achieve. The report following the session appeared to focus purely on finding negative points (such as nappies or food), while completely ignoring the actual interaction, bonding, and affection between a father and his children. This one-sided approach raises serious concerns about fairness and objectivity. There were also clear inconsistencies. I was informed that food was not appropriate for a shorter session, yet this was later criticised in the report. Basic provisions such as water were not even available, which is unacceptable for a centre dealing with young children. I also had safeguarding concerns. The room was not properly prepared for a two-year-old, and small objects were left accessible, creating unnecessary risk. Perhaps most concerning was being required to communicate in a language that is not natural between myself and my children, despite this not being part of any court requirement. This made the interaction confusing and disrupted what should have been a meaningful moment. Overall, the approach felt rigid, biased, and not genuinely focused on the children’s wellbeing. Rather than facilitating contact, it created obstacles. I would not recommend this centre."
